Boat thing
In this project, I had the role of the boat officer. As the officer I had no doubt that I would be safe throughout the entire project. Therefore, I was able sit back and watch as everyone else was voted off. One ineresting thing was that the quarter master was not voted off. I noticed that because he had a high rank on the boat, everyone forgot that he had no hands. Therefore, I have realized that in life we respect usefulness in a situation. For example, on the boat the millionaire had no usefulness in the water so he was thrown into the water. Also, in school, students who are intelligent are very well respected because we can use them to help out on homework. However, if you are not intelligent you will not be respected as much by your peers.

I really liked the "boat thing" as well. I think it would be interesting to see how different people of the same background(I.E. all wealthy, all poor, all elderly, all teenagers etc;) would have decided who to kick off.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the fact that, in society, people who are not useful are actually ignored and treated much differently than people who are the least bit useful in certain situations. This experiment taught me a lot about people.
ReplyDeleteBe careful not to be too terse with these posts. You are just barely hitting the minimum. But as far as the values, interesting to think about what we value here at school.
ReplyDeleteWhat does terse mean???????
